THE DARK WORLD OF GRIMORIA CHRONICLES: CHAPTER 3

Demon’s Emergence

The Guardians, way in the West, had no knowledge the demons had arisen. Humans, however, were on the move to crush this new menace with all their might. The Kingdom had weapons, armies, organization, and discipline. Its scouts and spies had found the location of Tartarus and the Elders had devised a plan to destroy it. The expedition was intercepted at the mountain pass. Thousands of human soldiers were caught unaware when the ground exploded beneath their feet. The demons cut their retreat and left them to die under the rain of black arrows. The second expedition, and the third, met the same fate.

When the fourth fell to a demon plague that wiped the easternmost Kingdom city from the map, the King stepped down and a new leader emerged. KING THEMIS delivered the harsh news to its subjects: the demons could not be killed. They were lesser in number, but superior in mind. They could not be defeated in their own land. But they could not attack the Kingdom. Their trickery and malice would never prevail. One day, their chaotic culture would bring their downfall. They came to be by accident and so they would leave the world. The Kingdom had only to endure to triumph over their enemy. Seal the frontier, avoid contact, kill on sight
